A coating of ice creates a frozen wonderland

Despite what the calendar says, February usually seems to me like the longest month. The fun of the holidays is long past, spring is still at least a month or two away, and it’s COLD. I find the key to warding off the winter doldrums is to keep busy. And for me, interesting opportunities for photography always help.

Wild weather swings brought unseasonably warm days that melted all the snow, and then rain that froze into a coating of ice on every possible surface, creating slick roads, power outages, and treacherous walkways. Not a good situation, but that coating of ice turns dormant plant life into frozen artwork, just crying out for a walk with a camera!
